The Changeling by Middleton & Rowley
After winning the inaugural JMK Award Tassos went on to attend the NT Studio Young Directors'
Programme before running the Lion & Unicorn Pub Theatre and then ROAR, a scratch programme to develop new work. He made and directed work at BAC, the National Theatre Studio, Soho Theatre, Arcola Theatre and Sheffield Theatres. He now primarily works for Coney, an agency of adventure and supported artists at
BAC. Its recent work has been at BAC, the Dana Centre and the National Theatre and Studio; upcoming work includes that at
BAC with Punchdrunk and a Soho-based commission as part of the London Games Festival.
I had a tough time directing The Changeling in the Award's first year; I leapt towards a vision that I didn't have the experience then to realise, making many mistakes in the process. But I learnt from that and perhaps that was the making of me. There are few opportunities to make a play happen and to pursue a vision like that which the Award provides - Tassos Stevens
