The JMK Trust and Nottingham Playhouse are inviting directors and theatre-makers from the East Midlands interested in directing theatre to join their free ongoing talent development scheme.
The group will:
• Create a hub for directors interested in making theatre.
• Provide access to exclusive workshop, training and development opportunities for directors and makers.
• Create a chance for directors and makers to meet regularly, to network and to share ideas both regionally and nationally.
The first session will take place on the 22nd November (5.30-7.30pm), when writer and director Luke Barnes will join us to run a session on the writer – director relationship and the process of making a new play.
Luke Barnes is an award-winning northern playwright from Formby, Liverpool. Avid Liverpool fan, average cook and below average musician, his writing concentrates on trying to make work that is, at the same time, a good night out and packed full of big ideas that affect our everyday lives. Recent plays include Ten Storey Love Song, All We Ever Wanted was Everything, No One Will Tell Me How To Start A Revolution, Men In Blue, Fable, and The Jumper Factory.
