#JMKSpace Starting to Cast

May 28, 2020 by Stephen Fewell

How to assemble a company

with

Tristan Fynn Aiduenu

Aimed at early career directors and theatre makers, who may be yet to have opportunities to work with a Casting Director, this #JMKSpace session/workshop on Zoom will take you through many of the tips Tristan has learnt with, and without, casting directors.

In this two hour session, participants will go through Tristan’s three-stage audition process, developed when casting Offie-nominated plays Sweet Like Chocolate Boy and his JMK Award production Little Baby Jesus.

Please note that this session will require preparation time– reading two plays and associated casting breakdowns in advance of the session.

Send in any questions you may have about the process of choosing a cast ahead of the event, so they can be considered by Tristan.

This #JMKSpace event is open to all.  It takes the place of our directors’ groups normally hosted by Nuffield Southampton Theatres, Salisbury Playhouse, The Sherman Cardiff and Reading Rep.

The workshop will take place 11.00 a.m – 1.00 p.m on Friday 12th June on Zoom, facilitated by Nik Partridge.

To reserve your free place, and receive a Zoom invitation, please email before Monday 8th June– nik@jmktrust.org

If you have any access requirements, need technical support or have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to contact nik@jmktrust.org

Tristan Fynn-Aiduenu is a British-Ghanaian writer and director from South London. He studied at Roehampton University and Royal Central School of Speech & Drama.
