As part of the new #JMKSpace programme of online events, we’re inviting directors who identify as working class, together with those who made successful applications for this year’s JMK Award, to join director Lyndsey Turner via Zoom for an online Q+A and general chat about being a director during and after lockdown.
We are inviting everyone to come along with a question that they might have so we can have a frank discussion about what the future might hold.
This will be followed by Lyndsey’s tips on ten things you can do while the theatres are closed which will make you a better director when they reopen.
The session will take place at 3pm on Wednesday 24th June, lasting around 2 hours.
If you would like to take part, please send your CV to piersblackJMK@gmail.com asap before Monday 22nd June.
Places are limited, and if there is a great demand will be allocated by random allocation, with a waiting list.
Lyndsey Turner has directed plays in the West End, the National Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company and on Broadway. She is currently Associate Director at the National Theatre
#JMKSpace is a new programme of free to access events we are delivering in partnership with our host venues amid the current lockdown. They are designed to support the creative, personal and professional development of the early career directors who engage with our Awards and National Programme of events.
