#JMKSpace: Working with Non-Traditional Texts with Tinuke Craig
Join Tinuke Craig for this workshop which will examine the particularities of directing work that doesn’t fit comfortably into traditional structures. Perhaps the play is more like a poem, perhaps it has no beginning, middle or end, perhaps the characters are called 1, 2, 3 or maybe there are no characters at all. It can be challenging trying to provide traditional techniques to non-tradition pieces. This workshop will discuss how you might approach these texts, how you might work with actors on them, how non-traditional work meets audiences and what can be preserved from traditional ways of working to help us.

Tinuke was the Gate Theatre’s Associate Director from 2015-2016. In 2014 she was the winner of the Genesis Future Director Award. She is a selector for the National Student Drama Festival, an associate of the National Youth Theatre, and an Education Associate Practitioner at the RSC. She trained as a director at LAMDA.
