We are delighted to announce the recipients of our first JMK Victoria Wood Bursaries.
Dale Edwards will assist Roy Alexander Weise on his production of The Mountaintop by Katori Hall at Manchester Royal Exchange, which will run from 25th September to 30th October.
Dale is a director based in Greater Manchester who has assisted David Thacker at Bolton Octagon and worked on #becausewearehere at Manchester Royal Exchange. He’s been a member of the Royal Exchange Open Exchange Network since 2015 and HOME’s talent development network, taking part in JMK workshops on our National Programme as well as RTYDS ‘Introduction to Directing’ residentials.
Rachael Walsh will be Associate Director to Maria Crocker on The Sorcerer’s Apprentice – a new adaptation by Laura Lindow at Northern Stage. This show will run from 27th November to 31st December.
Rachael is a Director from the North East who has a track record of making work in the region and working with young people. She has taken part in the JMK National Programme workshops at Northern Stage and recently assisted Sally Cookson on her production of Three Seagulls at Bristol Old Vic. She is especially interested in work that supports women to take up space on stage and in life.
