I am currently on the MFA in Theatre Directing at Birkbeck which finishes this summer. Please can you confirm if I am eligible to apply for the JMK award this year? (I am imagining not as I am still a student, but wondered if it being a post-grad course makes a difference)
    Many thanks,
    Danielle

    Hi Danielle

I’m afraid you won’t be eligible to apply this year. Although the winning production is towards the end of the year there is quite a lot of work to do from when the Award is given in April.

    Hope you’ll apply next year.

    Best wishes

Would a Theatre Studies degree count as professional arts training?
    Many thanks.

    Yes that would count.

I am a graduate from Central St Martins college of Art & Design and an assistant designer, interested in collaborating with directors working on developing proposals for the award. Is there a way I can become involved? I am based between London, Essex and the Midlands. Kind Regards Richard.

    Hi Ben
Applications will open towards the end of December 2014, most likely 27th December and close around 10th January. Details will be posted on this website when the dates are confirmed.
